UNS — Celebrating the 45th Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta Anniversary, 17 Professors are planting trees on Wednesday (10/3/2021) at Center for Excellence (PUI) Javanologi UNS. The Professors are Prof. Ari Natalia Probandari., dr., MPH., Ph.D., Prof. Dr. Reviono., dr., Sp.P(K)., Prof. Dr. Tri Wiratno., M.A., Prof. Dr. Wahyudi Sutopo., ST., M.Si., Prof. Doddy Setiawan., SE., Ph.D., Prof. Dr. Adi Prayitno., drg., M.Si., Prof. Dr. Bambang Subardi., S.T., M.T., Prof. Dr. Budhi Haryanto., M.M., Prof. dr. Ir. MMA Retno Rosariastuti., M.Si., Prof. Dody Ariawan., ST., M.T., Ph.D., Prof. Dr. Sc. Agr. Adi Ratriyanto., SPt., MP., Prof. Dr Bandi., M.Si., Ak., Prof. Dr. Izza Marfruhah., SE., M.Si., Prof. Joko Triyono., S.T., M.T., Prof. Dr. Ir. Sudadi., M.P., Prof. Dr. Ir. Endang Yuniastuti., M.Si., and Prof. Dr. Ir. Supriyadi., M.S.
Each professor planted different types of rare plants such as Sawo Kecik (Manilkara kauki), Matoa (Pometia pinnata), Jambu Darsono (Syzygium malaccense), Wahyu Tumurun (Ochna serrulate), Ringin Putih (Ficus benjamina var. varigata), and Asem Londo (Dialium indum). Other than the 17 Professors, also attending the ceremony is the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, and the other UNS leaders.
The tree-planting ceremony is started with a remark from the Chair of the Board of Professor, Prof. Suranto Tjiptowibisono, who congratulates the participating Professors because this planting will be the first time where there are 17 Professors within an event.
“Just like yesterday’s inauguration, where there are 6 (six) Professors inaugurated, today will be the first time, where 17 Professors are planting rare trees,” Prof. Suranto states. Hopefully, the tree planting will be followed by monitoring of the plant growth to maintain the trees’ growth and development.
The following remark was delivered by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho. Similar to Prof. Suranto, Prof. Jamal also congratulate the 17 Professors who contribute to the 17 rare trees planting. He adds that the trees planted by the Professors are the symbol. Therefore, Prof. Jamal hopes that the trees will be cared for properly.
“This is a symbol. The Professors are planting trees, cultivating them, giving it a name, Insyaallah, we will take care of it later,” Prof. Jamal said. Humas UNS
