In his remark, the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, stated that this construction is an effort to optimize UNS assets. He mentioned that the Rector’s Official Residence was 18 years old and was rarely utilized. However, as UNS can’t erase an asset, there will be a floor dedicated to Rector’s Residence in the new tower.

The tower is built on 5,000 square meters of land and is designed to have 11 floors and 76 meters high. Besides offices, the UNS Tower will be equipped with complete sports facilities, swimming pools, international conferences, an international office, a business center, and rent-able space to support revenue-generating activities. “This tower will be high; I hope we could serve the internet for the whole Surakarta,” Prof. Jamal stated.
