UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta delivers its appreciation to the 13 most outstanding UNS alumni in 2022. A total of 13 excellent alumni were awarded special awards presented on the Inauguration of 2022 UNS Outstanding Alumni and New Doctor Achievement Award on Thursday (10/3/2022) evening.
The thirteen high-achieving alumni are from 11 faculty representatives, 1 Vocational School representative, and 1 Graduate School representative. Their accomplishment and the contribution in their service toward community welfare through their respective professions are the leading indicators for this year’s award selection.
Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, the Rector of UNS, presented the Award directly through the virtual ceremony. He hopes that the excellent UNS alumni can improve their participation in the community through their respective careers and professions while promoting UNS honor in various sectors. “This momentum shows the fellowship among the alumni receiving this year’s Award for their achievement in their fieldwork, improving their work performance in their respective workplaces and community welfare, for the current and future times. The Graduates’ network at IKA UNS will always improve and grow, shoulder to shoulder, help each other, joining hands in self-service in the community engagement, according to their respective professional careers,” said Prof. Jamal.
Chairman of the UNS Alumni Association (IKA UNS), Ir. Budi Harto, M.M., also hopes that the excellent alumni can contribute to the community through their respective professions. Additionally, high-performing alumni can provide mentoring or assistance to young alumni to support their growth. “This Award holds a meaning for our shared responsibility, that the presence of outstanding alumni is actually needed in the development of future alumni, especially the young alumni. Therefore, I beg our fellow outstanding alumni to generously their experience and welcome new UNS alumni, especially young alumni, through mentoring and guidance, to allow them to excel in the community according to their respective assignments,” said Budi Harto.
The Thirteen Outstanding Alumni are Dra. Veronika W.R. Andrews, MBA. (alumnus of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences), Dr. Kandar, MAP. (alumnus of the Faculty of Cultural Studies), Imam Bustomi, S.Si., M.M. (alumnus of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science), Dr. Muhammad Aziz Ariyanto, M.Pd. (alumnus of the Faculty of Sports), Brig. General of the Indonesian Army Dr. Rahmat Saptono, Sp.OG. (alumnus of the Faculty of Medical Science), Zulkarnaen Hasan Basri, S.Sn. (alumnus of the Faculty of Art and Design), Dr. Uswatun Hasanah, M.Pd. (alumnus of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education), Ir. Warjito, M.Si. (alumnus of the Faculty of Agriculture), Sakwar Sanudin, S.T. (Vocational Programs alumnus), Ahmad Zabadi, SH, M.M. (Faculty of Law alumnus), Novita Dewi, S.E., M.M. (Faculty of Economics and Business), Dr. Ir. AR Hanung Triyono, M.Si. (Postgraduate school alumnus), and Anita Feng S.T., M.M. (alumnus of the Faculty of Engineering).
Dra. Veronika W.R. Andrews, MBA., who is currently serving at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, has the opportunity to give a welcome remark representing other outstanding alumni. Veronika says that this Award is a huge responsibility for them. “Tonight, I have the honor to represent the fellow UNS alumni to deliver a welcome remark. My fellow outstanding UNS alumni and I are honored and proud of UNS trust for choosing us as excellent alumni to represent our other friends. This Award is our pride, but it is also a big responsibility on our respective shoulders,” she said.
Veronika emphasizes that the role of alumni is essential to synergize with the university. Alumni’s role includes providing real input and programs for their alma mater, building public opinion about the alma mater, becoming a networking node and expanding the network for the alma mater, and becoming a source of information for the actual work condition and business for new graduates.
Besides delivering awards to Outstanding UNS Alumni, UNS also provided awards to new doctors within UNS. A total of 38 doctors who had just completed their doctoral studies received the Award. Humas UNS
