UNS—Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta established a partnership with the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas). The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) took place in Meeting Room 4 of the dr. Prakosa Building at UNS on Friday (30/8/2024).
In his remarks, UNS Rector Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr. M.Si., accompanied by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, Internationalization, and Information, Prof. Irwan Trinugroho, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., welcomed the SKK Migas team, led by Head of SKK Migas, Dwi Soetjipto. “It is an honor for us to host the SKK Migas team for the signing of this partnership with UNS,” Prof. Hartono said.
Prof. Hartono expressed his hope that the collaboration will be concretely realized. He highlighted that UNS has a wealth of human resources across various fields of expertise. The university also boasts Centers of Excellence in Science and Technology (PUI), numerous research centers, and study groups. “Feel free to utilize these resources. We also hope to leverage SKK Migas as a platform for education, research, and community service,” he added.
UNS is highly committed to the “Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka” (MBKM) initiative launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek). “This program allows students to take courses outside their field of study and to learn beyond the campus through internships and other activities. We need platforms for that. We hope that students can learn at SKK Migas, whether through internships or research. Additionally, there is the practitioner teaching program, where we hope Mr. Dwi and the SKK Migas team can serve as guest lecturers at UNS. We aim to maximize student competencies and for SKK Migas to share its knowledge with UNS students,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Dwi Soetjipto, Head of SKK Migas, expressed gratitude on behalf of SKK Migas management to the Rector and the UNS team for their warm welcome. He also expressed his hope that the partnership between SKK Migas and UNS will benefit both parties.
