UNS—Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) have signed an extension of their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The signing ceremony took place in the UNS Rector’s Meeting Room on Thursday (22/8/2024).

The Unimas delegation, consisting of five members, was led by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Prof. Dr. Rossazana Bt Ab Rahim. They were received by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., accompanied by the Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, Internationalization, and Information, Prof. Irwan Trinugroho, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D.

During the meeting, it was noted that UNS and Unimas have already established a significant collaboration. Notably, two UNS lecturers have completed their doctoral programs at Unimas, and one Unimas graduate has pursued a doctoral program at UNS. In addition, both institutions have engaged in student and lecturer exchanges and have co-hosted international events.

“Moreover, more than 10 joint papers have been published by UNS and Unimas lecturers in reputable international journals,” Prof. Hartono stated.

Prof. Hartono expressed his hope that this collaboration will continue to grow and be further enhanced in the future. “We hope this partnership will yield even greater benefits for both institutions, particularly in our efforts to position UNS as an internationally reputable university,” he added.
