UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret Hospital (UNS Hospital) Surakarta received the excellent rating (Paripurna) in a recent accreditation from the Hospital Accreditation Commission (KARS). The Accreditation KARS-SERT/384/XI/2022 was bestowed to the UNS Hospital representative at KARS Office on Monday (26/12/2022).
The Director of UNS Hospital, Prof. Hartono, states that he is grateful for this achievement. “At the end of this year, UNS Hospital received the highest rating in the KARS accreditation. This accomplishment becomes a piece of good news and indeed become a new years gift for UNS Hospital as well as UNS,” explains Prof. Hartono, Friday (30/12/2022).
Prof. Hartono added that this accreditation acknowledge the service quality of UNS Hospital. After the assessment process, UNS Hospital is determined to have fulfilled the accreditation standards set by the government. UNS Hospital, as a government hospital under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, is required to take part in an accreditation survey every four years, which is conducted by an independent accreditation survey organization. This year UNS Hospital accreditation was conducted by KARS on 14, 16, and 17 November 2022, which was conducted virtually for documentation assessment, and site visit.
Meanwhile, hospital accreditation standards are categorized according to the essential functions of the hospital organization. The standard’s category consists of good clinical governance and efforts taken to establish a safe, effective, and good governance hospital organization. Accreditation assessment was conducted through document verification and on-site visit, which included clarification to related hospitals within a similar group, and concluded with report delivered by assessor on crucial points regarding the assessment process. This report is delivered to the hospital management both virtually and through an on-site meeting. The report dissemination process aims to give an illustration to the related hospital regarding the implemented accreditation process and areas of improvement to enhance service quality.
“Following the assessment, assessors will deliver the accreditation decision to the Ministry of Health through the Directorate General of Health Service. We are grateful for the assessment result obtained by UNS Hospital. For this assessment, we got an excellent result, where all standards were scored above 80 percent. For this score, UNS Hospital received ‘Paripurna’ or Excellent rating,” added Prof. Hartono.
This accomplishment shows that UNS Hospital succeeded and always strives to deliver qualified health services to uphold the quality standard and patient safety. “We wish for support from all parties for UNS Hospital to keep improving for enhancing quality service for the patients,” he concluded.
