UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta hosted the 2018 Inter-Higher Education Pencak Silat Championship (Perti) held seven days since Saturday (26/11/2018) at the Sritex Arena GOR. The 7th National Championship will be attended by 474 fighters from 57 contingents of the universities throughout Indonesia.
“This is the largest membership and the highest number of universities joining the championship because it is approaching the PON event, then this is used as a warm-up to measure their readiness,” Rony Syaifullah as UNS Pencak Silat Advisor said in the Meeting Room 3 in Dr. Prakosa main building UNS.
In this National Championship, there were 21 medals in which 9 medals for men’s match class numbers, 6 medals for women’s match class numbers and 6 medals for male and female art classes and Kemenpora rotating trophies.
As the host, UNS has prepared this event well by involving 4 self-defense UKM in UNS namely Tapak Suci UNS, UNS PSHT, UNS Perisai Diri, and UNS Merpati Putih.
“All supporting facilities have been prepared, especially sports doctors and ambulances that were provided during the activity,” he said.
At the opening ceremony on Sunday (25/11/2018), it was planned to be attended by the UNS Rector, General Chair of PB IPSI, the Minister of Youth and Sports of Republic of Indonesia and representatives of each 6 Pencak Silat teams from Universities in Solo. In the event there was also entertainment in the form of the UNS Pencak Silat collaboration with the Pelatnas team, Saman Dance, Jimba Perkusi and many more.
