UNS KKN Group 185 Teaches Digital Marketing to MSMEs in Sewurejo Village, Karanganyar

UNS — The Community Service Learning (KKN) Group 185 from Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) held a socialization event on optimizing digital marketing for MSMEs in Sewurejo Village, Mojogedang, Karanganyar. In this activity, MSME enthusiasts of Sewurejo Village were taught how to maximize the use of WhatsApp Business and Google Maps as marketing tools, as well as how to use logo-making applications for their product branding.

Aldi Iman Nandoa, a student of Sociology study program from FISIP UNS, acted as the presenter and provided explanations on how to use WhatsApp Business to facilitate MSME actors in marketing their products. The use of WhatsApp Business not only benefits MSME actors but also makes it easier for consumers to purchase products by viewing the catalog listed in the application.

“In WhatsApp Business, the way it works is similar to the WhatsApp application you all use, but the difference is that you can upload product photos to create a catalog,” Aldi explained during the event on Saturday (19/8/2023).

Subsequently, the socialization continued with an explanation of how to use the Canva application to create product logos and how to use Google Maps to register the location of the MSME stores or outlets for easy searching.

The outcome or output of this socialization activity is to assist in creating logos, setting up WhatsApp Business accounts, and registering MSME locations on Google Maps for MSME actors in Sewurejo Village who do not yet possess these tools.

The Chairperson of UNS KKN Group 185, Amanda Rahma, expected that with this socialization activity, the MSMEs owned by the community in Sewurejo Village could become better known to the wider public.

“The goal of this socialization is to enable the MSME owners in Sewurejo Village to advance and become more widely recognized through digitalized marketing,” Amanda Rahma said.
