UNS – As the mission to give knowledge about the education of demography for Indonesian people, especially for campus scholar, Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of Library of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta served Demography Space on Wednesday (9/5/2018). This program cooperated with National Family Planning Coordinating Agency (BKKBN) of Central Java Province.
The program that was located at the official room of the head of UNS Library UPT was attended by BKKBN representative, Esterlina Kusumastuti as the Analyst of Demography Education Cooperation of BKKBN. Her coming was welcomed by the head of UNS Library UPT, Muhammad Rohmadi.
On her speech, Esterlina conveyed that the cooperation was a way of concern of BKKBN of Central Java province in information and knowledge dissemination about demography in campus area.
“Students may utilize the books and information of demography and its control in Indonesia that later on will be displayed in UNS Library,” Esterlina explained.
In one hand, Rohmadi hopes that the presence of Demography Space will support UNS Library as the central information for citizens, especially for students in term of demography literacy in Indonesia.
This presence of Demography Space can help the students and lecturers to open the discussion or further research about demography literacy in Indonesia. So, it may build the same perception among society about the programs regulated by the government in term of demography control in Indonesia.
“This Demography Space later on will be located close to social collections in UNS Library, so the books about demography can be integrated and utilized maximally by the students,” Rohmadi said. humas-red.uns/Imr/Dty
