There is a long process, which consisted of failures and success, that shape Imam’s personality. He considers failure as a normal and inevitable matter. “I’ve face failures, it is a competition, thus it is normal to face failure or success. The more failures we face, there will be more seeds of success that will be achieved later. All failures I face, I use it as a means to learn and analyze, as well as evaluate my shortcoming,” he explains.
The student from Soil Science Study Program FP UNS, hold onto a principle in which everyone has their own blessing. If someone is currently facing a failure, then next time they will get a blessing or getting opportunities. Support from family members has a great role in his life.
“Parents and family always give encouragement and support to every activity that I do or did. Moreover, my alma mater always support and give an additional source of energy for me to continue to be enthusiastic, specifically during the Outstanding Students Selection (Pilmapres) 2020. They provide many inputs and views on the idea I proposed. Because of them my spirit never fades,” he reveals.
During the Pilmapres Imam proposed an android application that can control irrigation flow on sandy land. The application is called ‘Semar Sandy-App’, which refers to Universitas Sebelas Maret (Semar).
“This apps will monitor and control irrigation remotely using a smartphone. Later, soil moisture can be monitored in real-time, thus various data that has been obtained from calculations will be accumulated. Meanwhile, the controlling function here refers to its function in controlling the water flow and irrigation cessation, whenever needed,” he explains.
At the end of the segment, Imam advised to improve and develop the potential and capabilities possessed to benefit others. “Never belittle the ideas that we have, rest assured that every idea we have will be useful for others even though we don’t know when the idea can be implemented. Lastly, let’s increase our innovative power and creativity to the point that it will produce brilliant ideas that can help to overcome the nation’s problems,” he concluded.
