UNS Officially Open Undergraduate Program and Professional Program for Midwifery

UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta officially opens new programs, the undergraduate Program and Professional Program for Midwifery (Bundling Program for Undergraduate and Professional Program in Midwifery). The program under the Faculty of Medical Science is opened based on the Rector Decree Number 48/UN27/HK/2022 of 13 January 2022.

The Public Relations Office of Humas Undergraduate and Professional Program in Midwifery FK UNS, Nurul Jannatul Wahidah, M.Kes., stated that this program is the development of the Diploma Program (D4) in Midwifery. Starting from 2021, the diploma program no longer accepts students, and in 2022 is officially transformed into Undergraduate Program in Midwifery.

“The undergraduate program is completed in eight semesters with a total of 147 credit semester with a title of “S.Keb,” and the professional program is completed in two semesters with a total of 36 credit semester with a title of “Bd,” Nurul explained on Wednesday (26/1/2022).

The undergraduate program and professional program in Midwifery have the vision to be a midwifery education institution with an international reputation for competent and excellent undergraduate and professional graduates in healthcare technology for mothers and children based on a community approach. The vision will be achieved through the program’s missions to administer quality education in shaping bachelor and professionals in Midwifery who are competent and excel in technology utilization for mother and children healthcare based on a community approach, developing research in mother and children healthcare based on a community approach, conducting community services that are synergized with multidisciplinary sciences in mother and children healthcare based on a community approach, holding quality program management based on good governance and conducting Higher Education Tri Dharma with national and international institutions.

“The undergraduate and professional program in midwifery starts to accept students for the 2022/2023 academic year,” she added.

Prospective students could apply for the program through the National Selection for University Admission (SNMPTN), Collective Selection for University Admission (SBMPTN), and UNS Standalone Selection. “For related information regarding the admission process can be accessed in SPMB UNS website,” Nurul stated.
