UNS – A professor of Social and Political Science Faculty (FISIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Ismi Dwi Astuti Nurhaeni became one of the resource persons at the Gender Mainstreaming Workshop on Government Policy in the Forest Areas Planning and Management Project in Kalimantan. The activity in collaboration with the KLHK-UNDP-GEF was held on April 29-30 in Samarinda.
The workshop was attended by around 100 people from KLHK, UNDP, Ministry of Women’s Empowerment, Forest Service of West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, BPKH Pontianak, Palangkaraya, Samarinda, UNMUL, UNTAN, Muhammadiyah University Palangkaraya, Antakusuma University and several related agencies that are committed to strengthening gender equality in forest management. The project were first begun by the Kalfor project, started with the process of collecting basic data related to the issue of gender assessment to other activities during the project.
“The workshop discussed gender action plans for interventions in ongoing activities and reflected in existing policies at regional, local and site levels,” Ismi said.
The activity was expected to increase joint security for the scope and arrangement of relations of activities for gender issues in the Kalfor project.
“Hopefully, this activity can improve gender participation and contribution in the Kalfor project, as well as the preparation of gender analysis for the Kalfor project. We hope that there will also be a synergy of gender issues from the national level to the site level,” she said.
