UNS — The Public Relations (PR-Humas) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a gathering with reporters from the media partners under ‘PR Without Media is Like a Soul Without Body’, Saturday afternoon (5/12/2020) in dr. Prakosa building. This event was held as a form of gratitude from UNS to all reporters, both local and national, who had covered the journey of achievement, research, community service activities, education, and the accomplishment of UNS during 2020.
Moreover, the PR office of the UNS as the responsible party in this event, specify that this occasion aims to strengthen the relationship between UNS and the media reporters who have contributed to the UNS image and reputation both at the national and international level. The attending reporters are from various media outlets such as Kedaulatan Rakyat, Radar Solo, VOA Indonesia, Pikiran Rakyat, Suara Merdeka, TV One, CNN Indonesia, Joglosemar news, Timlo.net, and many others.
Also attending the event is the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, the Head of UNS Academic Senate, Prof. Adi Sulistiyono, Deputy Chairman of the UNS Board of Trustees (MWA), Prof. Hasan Fauzi, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, Vice-Rector for Finance and Management Affairs, Dr. Bandi, the Vice-Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo, Vice-Rector for Partnership and Planning Affairs, Prof. Sajidan, the Deanery of UNS Faculties, and Head of Units.
Prof. Jamal in his remarks, thank you for the participation of the media reporters in the gathering. “Representing UNS leadership, I thank you for attending this gathering amid your busy schedule. Especially on Saturday, there must be many events to be covered,” said Prof. Jamal
The role of media is crucial for university ranking, proven that UNS always ranked within the top 10 in Webometrics ranking. For this year alone, UNS has succeeded in reaching its highest Webometrics ranking at 5th in Indonesia.
“I appreciate your kind participation in helping UNS to maintain our ranking, which leads us to always ranked within the top 10 in Webometrics, as well as from international ranking institutions such as 4ICU or UniRank. The Webometrics ranking assessment was made from your coverage,” Prof. Jamal explains.
Further, Prof. Jamal encourages that the partner media reporters actively cite UNS official web page at uns.ac.id as a reference for actual and reliable information and news. He hopes that this will help the public to know better about the UNS official web page. “Thank you for the assistance from the media partners and the great collaboration,” Prof. Jamal concluded.
On this occasion, UNS also invites young Dangdut singer Ardha Krisna Pratama. Prof. Jamal who was moved by Ardha’s golden voice and spirit to live, especially provide education funding, which was received directly by Ardha’s father. Humas UNS
