UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta has once again marked a remarkable achievement in both national and Asian higher education. According to the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings 2025, UNS ranks third among the best universities in Indonesia.
This notable accomplishment places UNS alongside other prestigious Indonesian state universities. It highlights UNS’s consistent progress in teaching quality, research excellence, international collaboration, and industry engagement.
UNS Rector, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., expressed his sincere gratitude to the entire academic community.
“THE Asia University Rankings 2025 ranked UNS in the 401–500 band in Asia and among the top three universities in Indonesia. This result highlights the dedication and synergy of every element within the university,” Prof. Hartono stated on Thursday (24/4/2025). “This recognition motivates us to keep innovating and to expand UNS’s global presence.”
Strengthening Global Recognition Through Research and Innovation
In its 2025 edition, THE evaluated Asian universities using five key pillars. Those are teaching, research quality, research environment, international outlook, and industry engagement.
Notably, UNS delivered outstanding performance in research quality and the research environment, significantly contributing to its national ranking.
Moreover, this recognition reinforces UNS’s vision to become a globally respected university. The university remains grounded in local wisdom while making real contributions to Indonesian society.
