UNS — The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, leaves a message to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (Dubes LBBP) Indonesia for Afghanistan, Dr. Arief Rachman, that UNS is ready to facilitate Afghanistan students who want to pursue higher education. This commitment was delivered in the signing ceremony of the Agreement of Arrangement between UNS and Afghanistan Embassy for Indonesia, Tuesday (4/5/2021) through Zoom Cloud Meeting.
“All accommodation, education fees, and living costs will be covered by UNS,” Dr. Arief Rachman stated, representing Prof. Jamal.
Mr. Faizullah Zaki Ibrahim appreciated the commitment and UNS good intent. In his remark, he mentioned that education and improvement of Human Resource quality are his priority. He hopes the collaboration between UNS and Afghanistan embassy for Indonesia will not stop at the signing ceremony but can be implemented in various events and policies.
“We deliver our gratitude to Dr. Arief Rachman, who has worked hard for this (collaboration),” Mr. Faizullah Zaki Ibrahim stated.
Collaboration Coverage
The collaboration between UNS and Afghanistan Embassy for Indonesia covers several points, including the implementation of Higher Education Tridharma in education, research, and community services; scholarship for Afghanistan students; internship; visiting scholars; and other activities agreed by both parties.
In his remark, Prof. Jamal shared his gratitude to Afghanistan Embassy for Indonesia in the signing ceremony. “We fully aware that collaboration is vital for a university to improve its educational quality and its contribution to the development, both at national and international levels,” Prof. Jamal stated.
Prof. Jamal also mentioned that UNS has been designated as Higher Education with Legal Entity (PTNBH) and is committed to contributing to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This commitment is proved by UNS scholarship offered to selected students from developing countries.
“Therefore, on this occasion, I also invite prospective students from Afghanistan to register and study in UNS. I also hope that this collaboration does not stop at the signing ceremony but will continue with the participation from Afghanistan students to study in UNS,” he concluded. Humas UNS
