UNS Rector Meets Commander TNI and Indonesian Vice-President

UNS – Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, met the Commander of Indonesian Military (TNI), Air Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, in the Sub-Detachment Command of TNI at Merdeka Barat street No. 2, Central Jakarta, on Monday (8/12/2019). In the visitation, UNS Rector, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, was accompanied by the 15 UNS professors. While Air Chief Marshall Hadi Tjahjanto was assisted by Assistant C-in-C for Territory Affairs of TNI, Major Gen. George Elnadus Supit and Assistant C-in-C for Personnel of TNI, Air Vice Marshal Dedy Permadi, S.E., M.M.D.S.

Several issues regarding the nationalism, such as the act to elevate and evolve the nationalism, patriotism, and love to the homeland among students, were the topics of this event.


“For sure, the issues cannot be separated from UNS’ commitment who has been declared as a Campus of Pancasila’s Fortress. By upholding this tagline, confirmed that it has an important role in preventing the ideology of radicalism in the campus,” Prof. Jamal stated in the middle of the visitation.

He continued that recently this ideology rampantly infiltrated some colleges.

After visiting the Commander of TNI, Prof. Jamal and the group continued their agenda headed for Vice Presidential Palace at Merdeka Selatan Street, Central Jakarta, to meet the Vice-President of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla. Humas UNS/Yefta/Imron
