UNS Student Won 2nd Place in LKTIN IASC UB

UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta student carved an accomplishment in the National Scientific Writing Competition (LKTIN) Innovation of Animal Science Competition (IASC) held by the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Brawijaya (UB). The three students won the 2nd position in the Animal Nutrition subtheme. They are Septaningtias, Ahyana Radyada, and Mufidatun Nisa from the Natural Science Education Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP).

The competition was held online through the Zoom Cloud Meeting and Instagram social media. To participate in this competition, participants were required to submit their works into the committee’s Instagram account and then present their work through the Zoom Cloud Meeting application. Septaningtias admitted that she was surprised by this accomplishment.

“Surprised to win and grateful because our team is from FKIP and the competition was from the Faculty of Animal Science,” Septa, her short name, shared with uns.ac.id team not long ago.

Supervised by Annisa Nur Khasanah, a Natural Science Education Program FKIP UNS faculty member, the team submitted a work titled “The Existence of Young Generation in Facing Global Challenges in the Animal Science Sector in the New Normal Era for Sustainable Development 2045” after spending three months on preparation.

The team also considers that the competition is related to their class assignment, and they could see the opportunity in the competition.

“The preparation took around three months, but we went through a lot of things because (the preparation was) online, so the team communication was rather poor. We tried to manage our time well because it was simultaneous with many class assignments. Taking overtime until midnight and finding difficulties in making video and poster because it was not our basic,” Septa said.

Representing her team, Septa hoped that other people could be motivated to develop their self-potentials.

“After participated in this competition, hopefully, our team and other people can be motivated to develop self-potential and participate in other competitions,” she hoped. Humas UNS
