UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta students achieve an accomplishment in the Kesmas Day National Poster Competition 2021 on “Culture”. These students are Fatimah Nur Azizah from the Natural Science Education Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) UNS. The competition was held by the Community Health Program Student Association Universitas Esa Unggul (HMJ Kesmas UEU).
This year, the Kesmas Day has “Community Role in Maintaining Indonesia Culture During the Pandemic” as its competition theme. Fatimah directly submitted a poster titled “Masker Go!” (Collaborative and Gotong Royong to Maintain Indonesia Culture to Fight the Covid-19 Pandemic). Through her poster, she educated the impact of Covid-19 on people’s social and cultural life, the example of collective works and gotong-royong culture amid the pandemic, and other means to maintain culture amid the Covid-19 pandemic. With this work, Fatimah is announced as the 3rd winner on Saturday (14/8/2021).
She hoped that this poster could encourage people to continue working together in facing the Covid-19 pandemic. Fatimah also hoped that the community could apply the health protocols and preserve the local culture during the pandemic.
“Hopefully, this poster can invite all walks of life to work together and gotong royong in facing the Covid-19, while preserving the culture even though with limitation. The community could wear batik masks, participated in Indonesian culture webinars, sharing information on our culture through social media, following the cultural trend in their local area, using local language, and wearing local attributes in online activities to preserve the culture amid the pandemic. I also hope that with this poster, the community could be unified and solid in implementing the government suggestions so that the pandemic could end soon,” Fatima explained.
In the future, Fatimah wants to continue to provide benefits for the community and continue achieving great accomplishments by sharing her ideas through digital works. Humas UNS
