UNS – A student of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Ratna Intan Sari educated the community members of Sidayu Village RT 01/ RW 01, Bandar Subdistrict, Batang District on Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) as a part of her Community Service Program (KKN) Covid-19 UNS.

The village is selected as a target of socialization due to the low awareness on Covid-19 and because Bandar sub-district was a red zone. Under ‘Supporting Community Comprehension on Covid-19’ as the theme, Ratna conducted various events such as online socialization of Covid-19 through social media group, dissemination of posters concerning Covid-19 around Sidayu village, empowerment of tailor to produce fabric mask, education on the correct way to wear a mask and how to clean it. Ratna also discussed the food security with the villagers and shares mini info on Covid-19.

Alhamdulillah all the activities received positive responses. The KKN Covid-19 UNS program is expected to improve the community’s understanding in facing Covid-19,” Ratna explained Wednesday (24/6/2020).
