UNS to Inaugurate 29 New Professors Ahead of Its 49th Dies Natalis

UNS – In celebration of its 49th Dies Natalis, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta inaugurates 29 new professors. UNS Rector, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., will officiate the ceremony at the G.P.H. Haryo Mataram Auditorium. The inauguration spans three days, from February 10 to 12, 2025.

Highlighting UNS’s Commitment to Education and Research Excellence

According to Prof. Dr. Mohammad Jamin, S.H., M.Hum., the Secretary of the UNS Academic Senate, this event underscores the university’s ongoing commitment. It highlights the university’s dedication to improving education and research quality. “These new professors will contribute significantly to advancing science and act as role models in furthering education quality at UNS,” Prof. Jamin said during a press conference held on Friday (7/2/2025) at Meeting Room 2, Dr. Prakosa Building, UNS.

The newly inaugurated professors represent a wide range of disciplines, from social sciences and humanities to science and technology. They have demonstrated outstanding dedication to teaching, research, and community service.

Among the 29 new professors, the Faculty of Engineering (FT) boasts the highest number, with nine professors. Other faculties include the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) with four professors. The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) has three professors. The Faculty of Agriculture (FP) and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) each have three professors as well. Additionally, the Faculty of Medicine (FK) has one professor. The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) has one professor. The Faculty of Law (FH) and Faculty of Information Technology and Data Science (Fatisda) each have one professor as well.

With the addition of these professors, UNS aims to produce graduates capable of driving national development and addressing global challenges.
