UNS – The idea of University of Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta in realizing a ‘World Class University’ (WCU) has been being pursued in various actions. One of them is by holding an Internalization Week which was initiated by UNS Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB). The Internalization Week was divided into three events which were Visiting Lecturer, International Short Course, and International Conference.
On the occasion, the Dean of UNS FEB, Prof. Djoko Suhardjanto and the head of Accounting Department, Dr. Agung Nur Probohudono who also opened the Visiting Lecturer and International Short Course programs on Monday (11/18/2019).
“Hopefully, the events of Visiting Lecturer and International Short Course can give benefits to UNS FEB as well as to strengthen our relationship [UNS FEB] with the universities in various countries,” said Prof. Djoko Suhardjanto in his speech.
The Visiting Lecturer also invited Prof. Hooy Chee Wooi from Universiti Sains Malaysia to deliver lectures about Investment Theory and Portfolio for 3 days, starting from Monday (18) to Wednesday (20). The presence of Prof. Hooy Chee Wooi certainly brought great benefits for UNS, especially FEB, in terms of improving the academic skills of FEB students in the lecture activities.
Furthermore, UNS FEB also held two International Short Courses in Harris Hotel on Thursday (21) and in PT. Sritex on Friday (22). The courses were attended by foreign students from Malaysia, Kyrgyzstan, England, Madagascar, and Brunei.
As the closing of the series events of Internationalization Week, UNS FEB also held an International Conference with a number of main speakers who are competent in their field. They were Prof. Juliana Sutanto from University of Lancaster UK, Prof. Habib Mahama from University of Qatar, Prof. Corina Joseph from Universiti Mara Malaysia, Prof. Ruhul Salim from University of Curtin Perth and Prof. Hooy Chee Wooi from Universiti Sains Malaysia.
