UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta as the campus who is preparing to be a World Class University, cooperated with University Putra Sultan Idris (UPSI) Malaysia. The collaboration which was established by UNS and this university from the neighbor country aimed focusing students in social entrepreneurship. Then, as the implementation, UNS and UPSI conducted an international seminar with the theme Social Entrepreneurship Exploration (SEE) at UNS Inn on August 15-18, 2019.
In his speech, UNS Vice-Rector for Partnership and Planning Affairs, Prof. Dr. rer.nat Sajidan, appreciated the partnership held by UNS and UPSI. Prof. Sajidan hopes that this event would increase the quantity of research and study from both universities.
“I hope that by many research products conducted by UNS and UPSI, can encourage the future research and study between the two universities,” Prof. sajidan stated.
This international seminar was also attended by the UNS Senior Advisor to Rector for Student, Partnership, and Business Development Affairs, Dr. Sutanto, along with the Deputy of UNS Public Relation, Dr. Intan Novela. In front of the UPSI delegations, Dr. Sutanto emphasized that in developing the spirit of social entrepreneurship, the UNS students must put forward the critical thinking, creativity, complex problem-solving. With the three points, the students expectedly can breed cross-cultural understanding between Indonesia and Malaysia.
