UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta won the Public Information Openness Award 2018 from the Central Information Commission (KIP). The prestigious award was given by the Chairman of KIP, Gede Narayana at the Palace of the Vice President of Indonesia on Monday (5/11/2018).
UNS became one of 18 State Universities (PTN) that received Public Information Openness Award 2018 for the Quite Informative category. Of the 26 PTN invited, consisting of 1 PTN in the Informative category, 7 PTNs in the Towards Informative category, 18 PTNs in the Quite Informative category.
UNS Vice Rector for Planning and Collaboration, Widodo Muktiyo said that UNS took part in KIP activities related to the existence of UNS as a Public Agency. With this achievement, it is certainly a pride for UNS and also a challenge for the future.
“Yes, hopefully the categories obtained are able to encourage UNS to improve to be the category of Towards Informative or even Informative,” Widodo said.
Meanwhile, KIP Chairperson, Gede Narayana explained that monitoring and evaluation of Public Body Information Disclosure in 2018 used different methodology from the previous year, in accordance with the Decision of the Chair of the Central Information Commission Number 03/KEP/Chair-KIP/III/2018.
“This year, we conducted monitoring and evaluation of all 460 Public Agencies. That is by providing a questionnaire whose indicators include website development related to Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID) and Public Information Announcement, so that public information can be easily and quickly accessed by the community,” Gede said.
Furthermore, the participating Public agencies returned the questionnaire, assessed the indicators of Public Information Services and Provision of Public Information, followed by the Public Agency Presentation stage to assess commitment, coordination, and innovation in the implementation of Public Information Openness.
“The level of participation seen from the return of questionnaires this year has increased, precisely from 460 Public Agencies, as much as 289 returned the questionnaires or 62.83%,” Gede reported.
These public agencies include PTN, BUMN, Non Structural Institutions, State Institutions and Provincial Government Institutions, Provincial Governments, Ministries and Political Parties.
The Information Commission provides the final assessment with the qualifications of the Public Agency as follows, Informative category with a value ranged from 90 to 100, Towards Informative category ranged from 80 to 89.9, Quite Informative category ranged from 60 to 79.9, Less Informative category with values ranged from 40 to 59.9 and Not Informative category with value less than 39.9.
