UNS — The UPT Library at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta received a study visit from students and mentors of the Club Pecinta Buku (Book Lovers Club, or CPB) from State Islamic Senior High School (MAN) 1 Sragen. During the visit, the group led by the Headmaster of MAN 1 Sragen, Windrati, S.Pd., M.Pd., was warmly welcomed by the Coordinator of Collection Services at the UPT Library UNS, Riah Wiratningsih, S.S., M.Si., in the Werkudara Room on the second floor of the UPT Library UNS Building, on Wednesday (10/1/2024).
The Headmaster of MAN 1 Sragen, Windrati, S.Pd., M.Pd., stated that this visit was conducted as part of a study observation for CPB students from MAN 1 Sragen to get to know the UPT Library UNS better and explore its collections. The hope is that after the visit, it will further cultivate the students’ interest in reading. Not only that, but during this visit, a collaboration agreement was also signed between the UPT Library UNS and MAN 1 Sragen.
“We, from MAN 1 Sragen, have made the UNS Library a reference in our research. So, books and other references that are not available in our school library can be obtained here at the UNS Library,” Windrati explained.
With the collaboration between MAN 1 Sragen and the UPT Library UNS, Windrati hopes to provide benefits for both parties. “The MAN 1 Sragen students, numbering around 1,300 students and represented by 43 members of the Book Lovers Club, can get references and links to view and read the books available at the UNS Library. We hope that after returning from the visit, our students gain knowledge from the UNS Library,” she added.
Meanwhile, the Coordinator of Collection Services at the UPT Library UNS, Riah Wiratningsih, S.S., M.Si., conveyed that the collaboration would have a positive impact on both parties. The UPT Library UNS supports this through coordination with the Coordinator of Training, Education, Research, and Community Service.
