The Dean of FEB UNS Appreciates the 1995 Alumni Service

UNS – The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), Prof. Drs. Djoko Suhardjanto, M.Com.(Hons)., Ph.D., Ak., appreciated the FEB UNS Alumni of 1995 that not only held a reunion but also held a series of social activity. Moreover, the activity also involves the entire civitas academics.

“The alumni from the class of 1995 are extraordinary, not only they organize a meet-up, but they also deliver a series of reunion activities that are very helpful for the development of the Faculty with a social nuance. Moreover, they also invite senior lecturer, both active and retired, as well as academic support staff,” he stressed while delivering a remark in “Alumni Talk”, on Saturday (01/02/2020).

Further, he mentioned that the collaboration of all civitas academics components, lecturers, academic support staff, students, and alumni, will be a great help for the acceleration of FEB UNS, not only at a national level but also at international level.

Currently, higher education institutions are required to follow the new accreditation standard with 9 criteria, which requires 80% of the alumni to be employed or establish employment. Therefore, the curriculum should be designed by the lecturers, industrial actors, and the alumni.

The role of alumni to motivate the students, through knowledge and experience sharing, is important. For instance, the Alumni Talk that was held from morning to afternoon in FEB UNS Hall.

At the end of his remarks, the Dean coveys his greatest gratitude to the main sponsors PT Wijaya Karya (WIKA) and to the PT Perkebunan Nusantara XIV, WIKA Gedung, PT Yogya Power, and Pukis Badran, and also to the donation from the FEB UNS Alumni of 1995.

“Alumni Talk” is a part of the series of activities organized by the Alumni from the class of 1995. There are four alumni that serve as speakers in this event: Danang Pamungkas, the Regional Territory Manager of PT HM Sampurna, Tbk; Haryanto, Commercial Director of PTPN XIV, Lenny Mardhiyati, Chief of Accounting and Reporting Section I of DJPK-Kemenkeu, and Renata Zoraifi, the Owner of Brand Pukis Badran.

Through the event that was celebrated with a culinary festival, the alumni deliver an appreciation to the lecturers and academic support staff, as well as a scholarship for the students.

Other activities that were part of the series were medical check-up and social service in the form of 50 packages of groceries distributed to the cleaning service officer, security officer, driver, office boy, and the academic support staff. These activities were held on Friday (31/01/2020), after the morning gymnastics.

The alumni also deliver a ‘gebyok’ (a traditional door or room divider in Javanese culture), extra amenities for the praying room, canteen renovation, restroom, porch renovation, and provision of organic and non-organic waste bins. Humas UNS
