UNS – The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho confers the “Parasamya Anugraha Dharma Krida Upa Baksana” Award to the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia (Wapres RI), Prof. Dr. K.H. Ma’ruf Amin during the Open Senate Meeting on the 44th UNS Anniversary, in G.P.H Haryo Mataram Auditorium UNS, Wednesday (11/3/2020). This award is presented to the Vice President for his contribution to the development of sharia economy and finance.
“If I am not mistaken, this award is the highest award given for pioneering humanities and community in promoting and developing economy,” said Prof. Ma’aruf.
Prof. Ma’aruf added that he receives this award along with an invitation that UNS can contribute to the national economic development, especially in Sharia Economy.
“We still need a long journey to establish Sharia economy as a source of benefit for the people. Really I never imagined that I will be awarded this award. As I mentioned previously, I am only a small part, only a small screw from a huge machine that drives the development of the Sharia economy in Indonesia,” he added.
Prof. Ma’aruf believes that the presence of sharia economy can benefit the community. As a country with the biggest Muslim community, Indonesia should be the world leader in Sharia economy and finance.
Prof. Ma’aruf also congratulates the UNS academicians who celebrate the 44th Anniversary. For UNS the Anniversary Celebration is not only a routine event but also interpreted as a way to reflect on what has been achieved, what has not achieved, and what will be the next objective.
“I hope in this 44th Anniversary, UNS can be a large, qualified, and independent higher education,” he said. Humas UNS/Dwi
