UNS — The Chief of The Council of Rector of Indonesian State University (CRISU) who is also the Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, welcomed the Circular Letter (SE) from the Directorate General (Dirjen) of Higher Education (Dikti) Number 6 of 2020 concerning the Administering Learning Process in the Even Semester of 2020/2021. This support was delivered by Prof. Jamal in a press conference concerning SE of Learning Process During the Pandemic (Covid-19), held online through the Zoom Meeting application on Wednesday (2/12/2020).
In the SE Number 6 of 2020 issued based on the collaborative agreement among Mendikbud, Minister of Religion, Minister of Health, and Minister of Home Affairs Number 04/KB/2020, Number 737 of 2020, Number HK.01.08/Menkes/7093/2020, and Number 420-3987 of 2020 concerning Administering Learning Process in 2020/2021 and 2020/2021 Academic Year amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The SE mentioned that the learning process at higher education in the even semester of 2020/2021 starting in January can be implemented through hybrid learning. However, higher education should prioritize campus members’ health and safety (students, teachers, and academic staff) and the surrounding community. From CRISU, we highly appreciate SE Number 6 of 2020,” Prof. Jamal explained.
CRISU, Prof. Jamal said that since November has designed an offline learning process by applying the health protocol. If face to face learning is implemented, either in class, practicum, field practice, and other forms of learning, universities must meet the requirements and comply with health protocols. For example, the maximum classroom capacity is 50 percent, preventing crowd, managing canteen location, and establishing awareness and discipline on the importance of implementing health protocols.
“CRISU has prepared as best as we can. We hope if face to face learning is implemented, it will not break the health protocols and create a new cluster (of Covid-19 infection),” Prof. Jamal added. Humas UNS
