UNS — Students Delegation from Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, who competed in the National Student Art Week (Peksiminas) 2020, successfully won 3 (three) categories. Based on the Peksimnas 2020 announcement on Sunday (29/11/2020), UNS student Hendy Andi Wicahyo won as the 3rd champion in Poster Design Category (Tangkai Desain Poster). In Women Seriosa Category (Tangkai Seriosa Putri), Maria Acintya was declared as the 3rd champion. Meanwhile, another delegation from UNS Faisal Juli Setiawan was declared as the 1st Runner-Up in the Monolog Category (Tangkai Monolog).
The students reveal that they are happy after hearing the result and are grateful. Maria Acintya, one of the winners, states that this achievement can help her to develop her interest and talent in the non-academic field. The student of the Law Study Program, Faculty of Law (FH) UNS were presenting a song entitled “Kisah Mawar di Malam Hari” a creation of Iskardar, in the Peksiminas 2020. “The preparation I have is training with a vocal coach and independent training,” Maria said, Monday (30/11/2020).
Hendy Andi Wicahyo, UNS Delegation in the poster design category, states that his accomplishment as the 3rd champion in Peksiminas 2020 is specially presented to the UNS students as an inspiration to achieve more. His creation entitled “Increasing the Potential of Local Tourism Post Pandemic to Face the 5.0 Era” was inspired by his hometown in Magelang.
“There are many beautiful tourism spots in Magelang, but not many are visiting the places. Therefore, I choose Magelang as my inspiration in designing the poster,” said Hendy Andy. The poster itself aims to educate the public regarding the tourism condition post-Covid-19 pandemic, with the hope that the public will keep adhering to the health protocol and they can use technology more wisely. It took a fortnight for Hendy to finish the poster design while researching to collect the poster material based on the theme determined in Peksiminas 2020.
The last delegation in Peksiminas 2020 is Faisal Juli Setiawan from Diploma Program in Applied Communication specializing in Public Relation. Faisal competes in the Monolog category by presenting a script entitled “ Sphinx Triple X” by Benny Yohannes. Preparation was difficult for Faisal, who had to study the monolog script together with his colleagues in Theater Gadhang FEB UNS to equalize the perception of the script to be delivered. Afterward, he needs to determine the required property, memorizing the script, train for blocking, and recording for his act repeatedly.
“The act presentation was limited to 12 (twelve) minutes, while the script was intended for more than the time limit. Thus we need to make improvisation to deliver the script within twelve minutes. The training, then, only need to deliver the script repeatedly and improving the presentation based on the critics given by my colleagues and the juries of Peksima UNS. The video was re-taken many times because it was deemed not yet perfect,” he explains. The whole process.
