UNS Students Won Cretive Video Competition in UAD Yogyakarta

UNS — Another national level achievement is presented by the students of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta. Bayu Aji Prasetya (Indonesian Language and Literature Study Program), Rizka Lailatul Rohmah (Diploma in Health and Company Hygiene and Work Safety Study Program), and Ahmad Imam Syafi’I (Diploma in Agribusiness Study Program) had succeeded in winning 1st place in the Creative Video Competition ‘Glory of Economic Development’ by Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) Yogyakarta on November 2020.

In the competition that takes on the theme ‘Caring and Rises Up During The Corona Pandemic’, the team creates a video regarding community activities during the Adaptation of the New Norms. Bayu states that their video brings a message regarding normal activities for the community long as they adhere to the health protocol. On the other hand, through this video, Bayu wishes to educate the community to stay compliant with health protocol while doing their activities and maintain their health.

‘In this video, we display a person who was exercising but remains compliant with the health protocol, such as doing exercise that does not involve many people, using hand sanitizer after finishing exercise, and drinking water to maintain their health,” Bayu explains, Wednesday (23/12/2020).

In the preliminary stage of the competition, teams from various universities across Indonesia have to upload their video through an Instagram account from September 21st to October 22nd, 2020. Voting for the video was based on the number of likes and views of the video. The announcement was made on November 3rd, 2020 through the @hmepofficial official Instagram account. The initial announcement actually did not mention their team as the 1st winner. However, an hour later, an erratum announcement was made, which determine the UNS Team as the winner.

“When announced as the winner, we are joyous. Alhamdulillah, our effort in creating a video was paid off. Initially, we are not the winner, but afterward, the committee issues a correction mentioning that our team is the winner. This, according to the committee, is due to a technical error from the juries, and based on the final decision our team is determined as the winner,” Bayu reveals.

Bayu, who currently is in his 9th semester hopes that he can deliver many accomplishments before his graduation. “Even though I am considered as late, but I want to deliver something special such as achievement. Hopefully, in the future I can deliver other achievements before graduated,” he concluded. Humas UNS
