UNS — The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, held a roadshow to the Faculty of Agriculture (FP) UNS, at FP Assembly Room, Wednesday (23/12/2020) morning.
The roadshow is part of the Rector agenda in visiting 11 faculties, School of Vocation (SV), and Postgraduate Program from December 21st to 23rd, 2020. This Roadshow aims to deliver the “Strategy in Achieving PTN BH UNS Performance in 2020.” On the previous day, the Rector has visited the Faculty of Law (FH), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Postgraduate Program, SV UNS, Faculty of Engineering (FT), Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB), Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP).
Accompanied by the Dean on FP UNS, Dr. Samanhudi, the Rector explains the differences between University as Legal Entity (PTN BH) and University as Public Service Agency (PTN BLU). “Previously, our strength as PTN BLU is focused on the university general strength. Because now we are determined as PTN BH by the President Joko Widodo, thus the focus is now specific international strength,” Prof. Jamal states.
Under the new autonomous status with much flexibility for UNS, Prof. Jamal stressed that study program accreditation must aim the international accreditation. This objective will also answer the requirements of the Minister of Education and Culture (Kemdikbud) RI, which encourages all PTN BH can be included in the top 500 best universities in the world.
“Then we a PTN BLU, our reputation is at Dikti level. Now, we must set our reputation at international or as a World Class University,” Prof. Jamal adds. On this occasion, Prof. Jamal also explains the Main Performance Indicator (IKU) that was included in the PTN BH Rector’s performance for 2021. One of the indicators is graduate percentages. Further, Prof. Jamal explains that the Graduates from Diploma and Undergraduate degree will be assessed using employment indicator, continuing study, entrepreneurship, and appropriate income.
Through his explanation, Prof. Jamal set a target of 90% of the graduates fulfilling the criteria, and hold the UNS Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs alongside the Vice-Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs as the responsible party.
“The October baseline, there are 45% of graduates succeeded to get employment, 20% of graduates are continuing their study, and 21% of graduates become entrepreneurs, totaled 80%. The target set by Kemdikbud in 2021 is 80 percent,” Prof. Jamal explains.
Meanwhile, on the previous visit to FKIP and FKOR UNS, Tuesday (22/12/2020), Prof. Jamal invites all UNS academic members to implement PTN BH starting on January 2nd, 2021. Humas UNS
