UNS — Proud achievement was obtained by a student of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta. Ulifah, from the Communication Science Program class of 2017, successfully went into the top ten from hundreds of participants in the European Union (EU) Reusable Bag Design Contest held by EU Indonesia.
Ulifah joined the reusable bag design contest that will be used by the European Union in their program. This contest is held at the national level for the category of 17-25 years old participants. The theme for the competition is forest and sea. In the online contest, Ulifah chooses to make a design related to the sea. She submitted her design through electronic mail. The submission process was opened from Saturday (24/10/2020) to Friday (27/11/2020). From hundreds of works submitted to the committee, only 10 participants whose design was used as bag design. One of these selected designs is Ulifah, who received a bike and water bottle designed by EU Indonesia as rewards.
Ulifah admitted that she participated in poster design competition several months before the competition, but she has not succeeded in winning. “Because of the limitation in skill and facilities, I only prepared the design using phone, and it makes my hands stiff, I lose,” Ulifah said to uns.ac.id team, Monday (28/12/2020).
In the competition, Ulifah prepared a design with the Save Our Sea, Save Our Life theme. During the preparation process, she got inspiration from Pinterest, Instagram, and Twitter. “Usually, I get inspiration from Pinterest. Besides Instagram and Twitter. Many artists posted their works to social media, so I just need to follow. About the words, it is flexible. Because we were asked to give an interesting slogan, it should not be too long and easy to catch,” she explained. Ulifah hopes that she can obtain another achievement in the future, even up to the international level if possible. Humas UNS
