UNS — The Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held an internal competition UNS Rector Cup that will select and prepare UNS delegations in National Mathematics and Natural Sciences Competition (KN MIPA) 2021. The KN MIPA 2021 will be organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud).
Through the Student and Alumni Bureau (Mawa) UNS, the UNS Rector Cup III Road to KN MIPA-PT 2021 online registration is open from February 1st, 2021 until February 21st, 2021. This competition will cover the four fields of studies namely mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology. To uns.ac.id, the Chairman of the Committee, Rizma Yudatama reveals that after the registration there will be an elimination stage on 6 and 7 of March 2021. during this elimination, 14 participants will be selected for the final round. “The winner from each of the fields of study will be the UNS delegation at the regional level. After the final match there will be mentoring from professors to prepare the delegates,” Rizma explains on Tuesday (2/2/2021).
Considering that the Covid-19 pandemic is still ongoing, the participants will have to solve the problem online. Even though so, Rizma hopes that the participants will stay passionate and serious in this competition. “The enthusiasm is not only during the selection stage but also during coaching. Especially learning KN MIPA material that has a different level from the ordinary material,” she reveals.
There are several requirements for the students who want to participant in the UNS Rector Cup II, among other they must be an active student (maximum on their 8th semester), from the undergraduate study program or equal level, and master Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA) field. Moreover, participants must have never won a gold medal or first place in each field in KN MIPA. Specifically for the mathematics field, the participant should have never participated in International Mathematics Competition for University Student (IMC).
