UNS — The Bachelor Study Program in Management, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, organized a Leadership Webinar on Monday (26/7/2021). The webinar discusses a specific theme entitled “An Overview of the Departmental Leadership Role: Scope, Framework, and Scorecard,” which is available virtually through the Zoom Cloud Meeting. The webinar invites Prof. Arifin Angriawan, Ph.D., from Purdue University Northwest, the USA as the main speaker. This webinar is part of the series in Kampus Merdeka Competition Program (PKKM) 2021.
Reported from the faculty official website feb.uns.ac.id, Dr. Atmaji, M.M., as the Head of Study Program, states that the event aims to improve the institutional management quality, especially in the Management Study Program. This webinar is intended to prepare the study program to excel at national and international levels. “To achieve this objective, we wish for the active role and support from the academic staff in Management Study Program to improve the quality of academic and other activities in the future,” he said during the opening remarks.
In the webinar, Prof. Arifin Angriawan states that institutional management is reviewed from various perspectives, starting from the human resource, academic staff, curriculum, learning process, student affairs, and its impact on external parties. He also explains his best practice experience on the institutional management in Purdue University Northwest based on the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation.
Prof. Arifin Angriawan added that there are 9 (nine) standards in the most current AASCB accreditation. The standards cover strategic planning; physical, financial, and virtual resources; faculty and professional staff resources; curriculum; assurance of learning; learner progression; teaching effectiveness and impact; the impact of scholarship; and engagement and societal impact.
Prof. Arifin Angriawan further explains how to implement a scorecard framework in an institution. The scorecard framework implementation also involves the evaluation of a determined target, which can be the basis for institution advancement monitoring. Humas UNS
