UNS Students Produce Hydroponic in Cemani Village, Sukoharjo

UNS — The Student Community Service (KKN) Team Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta created hydroponic in Cemani Village, Grogol Subdistrict, Sukoharjo District. The team promoted a hydroponic program to provide nutritious food sources for the community. The cultivation program is also applicable in people’s yards or narrow lands.

The Leader of the KKN 223 Team, Dzakwan Murtadlo Mukti, stated that his team implemented nine programs during the KKN. This hydroponic cultivation program is one of their programs. This program was designed under the healthy lifestyle theme.

“We will be stronger and not infected by sickness or infected by Covid-19 illness through a healthy lifestyle. An effort to maintain a healthy lifestyle is my consuming nutritious foods rich with vitamins and other content that benefits our body,” Dzakwan explained on Thursday (26/8/2021).

Dzakwan stated that the community could manage the nutritional addition through hydroponic production, such as fertilizer for their plants. “We can guess the fertilizer addition, either organic or chemical fertilizer. We could also choose a good seedling to ensure freshers and better yields compared to using a chemical substance as fertilizer,” Dzakwan added.

Hydroponic cultivation is also faster and does not need large spaces to implement it. Humas UNS
