Bachelor’s Degree of Mathematics Program FMIPA UNS Participates in ASIIN International Accreditation Assessment

UNS — The Bachelor’s Degree of Mathematics Program (Prodi) at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta was undergoing an assessment process to obtain international accreditation from the Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematics (ASIIN). ASIIN is an international accreditation agency based in Germany that accredits engineering, mathematics and science, agriculture, and biology disciplines. This step is taken as part of the efforts to support UNS in becoming a world-class university.

The ASIIN accreditation assessment activities took place over two days, from 16 to 17 October 2023 in an offline format. The assessment involved two other programs, namely the Mathematics Education Program and the Science Education Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP).

The opening event was attended by UNS Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S.; Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, Business and Information, Prof. Irwan Trinugroho, S.E., M.Sc,.Ph.D; Deans of FKIP and FMIPA, heads of the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM), the Research and Community Service Quality Assurance Institute (LPPMP), and other related officials.

The ASIIN cluster’s assessors (the expert panel) included Prof. Dr. Hans-Georg Weigand from the University of Wurzburg, Prof. Andreas Muller from University of Geneva, Alexandra Dreiseidler from Emil-Fischer Secondary School, Priyambodo, S.Pd., M.Sc. from Lampung University, Dr. Khaerudin, M.Sc from Hasanuddin University, and Fidah Rahmah Fitria from Jember University.

Drs. Harjana, M.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D., the Dean of FMIPA, expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in the successful execution of the accreditation. “As Faculty leaders, we thank all the teams involved, including leaders, lecturers, students, alumni, and education staff, for the smooth progress of this accreditation process.
