UNS – The Biology Doctoral Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta organized a Curriculum Workshop for the study program. The workshop took place at the UNS Tower Building on Monday (15/7/2024).
The event featured two speakers: Prof. Dr. Endah Retnaningrum, M.Sc., Head of the Doctoral Program at the Faculty of Biology, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), and Dr. Budi Legowo, M.Si., Coordinator of Curriculum and Educational Management at the Institute for Educational Development and Quality Assurance (LPPMP) UNS.
Also present at the event were Prof. Venty Suryanti, S.Si., M.Phil., Ph.D., Acting Vice Dean of Academic Affairs, Research, and Student Affairs FMIPA, and Drs. Harjana, M.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of FMIPA. In his welcoming remarks, Drs. Harjana expressed his support for the workshop, noting that it demonstrates the Doctoral Program in Biology’s responsiveness to contemporary developments.
“As the faculty leader, I warmly welcome the organization of this workshop. It shows that the Doctoral Program in Biology is open to evolving with the times,” Harjana said.
The purpose of the Curriculum Workshop was to provide a platform for improving the current curriculum and to share insights with the curriculum of the Doctoral Program at the Faculty of Biology at UGM.
During the event, there was also a handover ceremony for the position of Acting Head of the Doctoral Program in Biology FMIPA UNS from Prof. Dr. Sunarto, M.S., to Dr. Widya Mudyantini, S.Si., M.Si., as Prof. Sunarto retired. The handover was witnessed by the Dean of FMIPA UNS and the Acting Vice Dean of Academic Affairs, Research, and Student Affairs FMIPA UNS.
