In his remarks, Prof. Ir. Dody Ariawan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni UNS, emphasized that these new doctors are stepping into a new phase of life and will now serve the community.

“There are opportunities to seize and challenges ahead. During your studies, you have acquired extensive knowledge, particularly in the medical field. However, just as important are non-technical skills like critical thinking, effective communication, leadership, and networking,” Prof. Dody said.

The Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K)., highlighted the importance of professionalism for the newly appointed specialist doctors.

“Professionalism consists of several components, including competence. You have been trained in these competencies, and now you have mastered them. The next key aspect is responsibility. A professional takes responsibility for their work. Additionally, specific elements like patient safety are also part of professionalism,” Prof. Reviono explained.

Prof. Reviono also encouraged the new specialist doctors, now alumni, to uphold the reputation of UNS and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and their alma mater.

Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Alvian Oscar Irawan, dr., Sp.P.D., expressed his pride in being a student at FK UNS and his hope that the knowledge gained would be used to help others.

“For years, we have learned about not only medical science but also the values of sincerity, empathy, and service. We have been trained to become not only smart specialist doctors but also compassionate human beings. Every patient who comes to us carries hope, and we have been trained to be the ones who can provide that hope through our skills and knowledge,” Dr. Alvian said.
