UNS – Two students from the Industrial Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering (FT), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), Surakarta, have successfully won awards at The 5th Asia Pacific Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM) Japan 2024. The two students are Danish Faizi Adinata and Danica Marshafina Tamimy Hanun.
In the competition, Danish Faizi Adinata secured 1st place in the Undergraduate Student Paper Competition with his research titled “Approach to Eliminate Cost Losses in Returnable Facilities: A Case Study.” Meanwhile, Danica Marshafina Tamimy Hanun won 2nd place in the Undergraduate Research Competition with her paper titled “Productivity Improvement of Cement Production Process Using Objective Matrix (OMAX) Method: A Case Study.”
According to ft.uns.ac.id, on Tuesday (1/10/2024), this competition served as an international forum to present research findings in industrial engineering and operations management. The IEOM Conference is an international event organized by the IEOM Society, aiming to facilitate collaboration among academics, practitioners, and students worldwide in these fields. The IEOM Japan 2024 Undergraduate Research Competition is one of the events targeting undergraduate students, focusing on research in industrial engineering, operations management, or related disciplines.
“The presentations were conducted virtually via Zoom Meeting on September 9, 2024,” Danish said.
Both FT UNS students, Danish Faizi Adinata and Danica Marshafina Tamimy Hanun, presented research based on case studies from their internship experiences. “This achievement highlights the quality of UNS students’ research on an international level and serves as motivation for the entire academic community to continue excelling and achieving on the global stage,” Danish added.
