UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta has secured the 8th position on the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) 2024 Top Collaborator list. This national achievement is based on joint publications produced during the 2021–2024 period. UNS contributed 263 scholarly outputs, primarily focusing on engineering and environmental science research.
The announcement was officially made by BRIN and was met with enthusiasm by the UNS academic community. The Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for this accomplishment, emphasizing the university’s commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and collaborative research.
“We are proud of this achievement. Being included in BRIN’s Top Collaborator list is tangible proof of UNS’s dedication to strengthening research collaborations both nationally and internationally. I extend my gratitude to all lecturers, researchers, and students who contributed to these publications,” Prof. Hartono stated to uns.ac.id on Monday (13/1/2025).
He also highlighted the importance of research collaboration in addressing societal needs through knowledge development.
“Collaboration is not just about numbers but about how research outcomes can positively impact society. We hope this accomplishment motivates us to continue improving the quality of research and publications in the future,” he added.
In the rankings released by BRIN, UNS outperformed several other universities. Universitas Airlangga (Unair) ranked 10th with 255 scholarly outputs, while Universitas Brawijaya (UB) ranked 11th with 246 outputs. UNS’s achievement of the 8th rank underscores the university’s competitiveness within an increasingly dynamic research ecosystem.
This milestone further solidifies UNS’s commitment to fostering interdisciplinary and institutional research collaborations. Moving forward, UNS aims to expand its contributions to impactful research on national and global scales. This achievement is expected to inspire the entire UNS academic community to continue innovating and advancing scientific knowledge for the benefit of society.
