UNS – The Faculty of Medicine (FK) at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a Halalbihalal and Eid al-Fitr 1446 H Gathering. The event aimed to strengthen bonds within its academic community. UNS Rector Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., FK UNS Dean Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K), attended the event. The vice deans, lecturers, staff, and students were also in attendance. The gathering took place at the FK UNS Auditorium.
Spiritual Reflection and Unity at FK UNS Eid Gathering
The gathering began with a solemn recitation of the Holy Qur’an. Luthfi Hakim Kurniawan, a student of the Medical Professional Education Program (PSPD), led the recitation. This opening created a spiritual atmosphere that set the tone for the event.
In his address, Prof. Hartono emphasized that Halalbihalal is more than just a tradition. He urged the community to see it as a meaningful opportunity to reflect and forgive. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening unity among members of the academic community.
“Today’s Halalbihalal is not merely a formality. It is a spiritual moment to reaffirm our commitment as individuals of faith and knowledge,” Prof. Hartono said on Tuesday (8/4/2025).
Furthermore, he encouraged the academic community to uphold integrity, honesty, and a spirit of service. According to him, UNS must not only strive for academic excellence. It must also play a key role in character building and the advancement of civilization.

Dean of FK UNS, Prof. Reviono, echoed these sentiments. He reminded attendees that Eid al-Fitr is a moment of victory, reflection, and reconciliation. It is a time for reconciliation with both God and fellow human beings.
“On Eid al-Fitr, we are like newborns—free from sin and in a state of purity. Yet, while God forgives us, we must also seek forgiveness from others,” he stated.
He added that this celebration should be a starting point for progress. He encouraged all members of FK UNS to boost their creativity and competence to support the faculty’s growth.
Encouraging Self-Improvement and Faculty Growth Post-Eid Celebration
The event continued with a spiritual talk (tausiyah) by Dr. Annang Giri Moelyo, dr., Sp.A(K)., M.Kes., Vice Dean for Non-Academic Affairs. His sermon, titled “Becoming a Pure and Serving Individual,” invited participants to use Eid al-Fitr as a turning point. He encouraged them to focus on self-improvement.
“This is a moment to purify ourselves—from sins, grudges, and bad intentions. Halalbihalal provides us the opportunity to sincerely ask for and grant forgiveness,” he explained.
In addition, FK UNS gave special recognition to faculty members who have completed their service or entered retirement. The event concluded with a warm handshake session and friendly interaction among participants. This fostered a deeper sense of family and solidarity.
