UNS — The Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Smart Hub Building was officially inaugurated by the Mayor of Surakarta, Respati Achmad Ardianto, on Friday (May 8, 2026). Located west of the UNS Rectorate Building, the UNS Smart Hub is expected to become a center for innovation development, collaboration, and digital transformation within the university environment.
In his remarks, the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all invited guests, particularly the Surakarta City Government and the management of Bank Jateng for their support and strong cooperation.
The development and management of the UNS Smart Hub Building, which also houses the UNS Sub-Branch Office (KCP) of Bank Jateng, were described as a tangible form of collaboration between UNS and Bank Jateng. This partnership not only provides banking services for the academic community but also supports the creation of collaborative and interactive spaces on campus.
“The presence of the UNS Smart Hub Building is expected to bring significant benefits, not only to the UNS community but also to the surrounding society,” said Prof. Hartono.
In addition to banking services, the building is equipped with indoor and outdoor spaces that can be used for discussions, interactions, and collaboration among students, lecturers, and staff. These facilities are considered important in fostering a productive, open, and innovative academic culture in a modern university setting.
UNS also encouraged its academic community to make optimal use of the facilities at the UNS Smart Hub, both for academic and non-academic activities. It is hoped that the available spaces will inspire ideas, innovations, and collaborations that benefit the wider community.
Going forward, UNS hopes that its partnership with Bank Jateng will continue to expand into various strategic areas, including financial literacy, service digitalization, student entrepreneurship development, and support for other university programs.

“The UNS Smart Hub Building is expected to become part of our collective effort to improve public services while strengthening institutional synergy between the education sector and the banking industry,” he added.
Meanwhile, Bank Jateng Director Bambang Widyatmoko expressed appreciation to the Mayor of Surakarta as one of Bank Jateng’s shareholders for his continued support and concern for the bank’s development. According to him, such support plays an important role in strengthening Bank Jateng’s role as a regional development bank that contributes to the advancement of Central Java.
He explained that the establishment of the UNS Smart Hub and the Bank Jateng UNS Sub-Branch Office reflects Bank Jateng’s commitment to providing financial services that are closer to centers of education and local human resource development.
“The existence of this sub-branch office is expected to support the growing transaction activities within the campus environment and strengthen the synergy between Bank Jateng and UNS,” he stated.
Bambang also expressed his gratitude for the trust UNS has placed in Bank Jateng in managing its financial transaction ecosystem. He hopes that the collaboration will continue to grow so that both institutions can develop together and provide mutual benefits.
Through this inauguration, UNS and Bank Jateng hope that their partnership will become even stronger in supporting educational advancement, strengthening financial services, and encouraging economic growth in Central Java.
