UNS – A briefing and deployment of the Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta Student Community Service COVID-19 Program (KKN COVID-19) Phase III is held on Tuesday (2/6/2020). In total 744 students and 34 Field Supervisor Lecturers (DPL) are deployed via online streaming by the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo. This event was held through a Live Streaming in the UNS Youtube account.
As reported by the Head of Technical Implementational Unit KKN LPPM UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sudibya, M.S., this KKN COVID-19 Phase III will be deployed to 17 Provinces in Indonesia with the most student deployed to Central Java with a total of 530 students.
Meanwhile, the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho said that the method used in the implementation of the KKN COVID-19 will still consider the health protocol, avoiding crowds, and carry out activity from home.
“It seems like the campus and Local Government has the same mission and interests in handling the Covid-19 pandemic, which is to immediately find the best solution to resolve the disaster. It is impossible to resolve the COVID-19 pandemic partially. Therefore, cooperation between both parties is needed as a powerful means to get people to overcome the panic and selfishness,” said Prof. Jamal
The “Jogo Tonggo (Safe our neighbor)” Movement is one of the programs intensified by the Government of Central Java Province. Responding to this, UNS also initiates a COVID-19 Siskamling (Surrounding security system) movement to ignite humanitarian awareness, especially in Central Java. Both activities have a similar basic concept in its implementation, departing from the thought of building solidarity on the basis of respect for the values of togetherness and social care. In accordance with the number of students who carry out their KKN in Central Java, it certainly becomes a good opportunity to introduce the movement massively to the public.
The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo is responding positively to the KKN COVID-19 program organized by UNS. According to him, UNS never stop innovate and always creating. This type of activity is expected to grow in the current ongoing condition, innovative and creative thinking.

On this occasion, Ganjar Pranowo also advises that this KKN can be a place for students to test their capacity, caring, and humanity. This can also be a medium for the students to practice the knowledge that has been learned.
