UNS — Honoring the 5th Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, the UNS leaders visit the late Prof. Drs. Haris Mudjiman, M.A., Ph.D., tomb. This visit was held after the UNS 45th Anniversary Ceremony on Wednesday (10/3/2021). Prof. Drs. Haris Mudjiman passed away at age of 74 on 11 November 2017.

The late Prof. Haris is the first Rector from UNS internal environment and remains in service for two periods starting from 1995 to 2003. Meanwhile, the four previous Rectors were not from UNS but external institutions.

The UNS representatives departed from the UNS campus to the burial site in Buduran Hamlet, Gabugan Village, Tanon Sub-District, Sragen at 09.30 AM. Besides the Rector of UNS, the Vice-Rectors, and UNS Leaders, the ceremony is also attended by the family representative. The late Prof. Haris’ daughter, who is attending the ceremony, thanked UNS for the prayers addressed to her late father.

Prof. Jamal recounts that the late Professor was an influential role in the development of UNS during his service. “With his patience and shrewdness, UNS developed rapidly during the eight years of his service period. Before ascending to be the Rector of UNS, he was the UNS Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs,” Prof. Jamal revealed in his remark before the ceremony started.

Concluding the ceremony, Prof. Jamal invites all attendees to pray for the late Prof. Haris. “We continue his efforts in developing UNS to be a better university,” he concluded.

After the remark, the ceremony was followed by a prayer led by Prof. Bandi, the Vice-Rector for Management and Human Resources Affairs UNS. The event, then, continued with the sowing of flowers by the leaders of UNS and family representatives. Humas UNS
