UNS — News of achievement comes from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta. A student from History Education Program won a national essay competition held by Cipta Prestasi. The student is the last year student, Khoerunisa Rohmah.
Khoerunisa won over 85 competitors from Indonesian universities and brought home the price for 2nd position. In the competition, she offered the idea for NutriVid-App that provides information and knowledge on a balanced diet that assists users in determining their healthy lifestyle by meeting their nutritional needs. “NutriVid-App presents balanced nutrition in simple displays and language,” she explained to uns.ac.id team on Sunday (25/4/2021).
Low community awareness on the importance of having balanced diets encouraged Khoerunisa to propose the idea. Before the pandemic, balanced nutritional intake is a severe issue for the community. The high malnutrition cases show low community awareness on nutrition. “Balanced nutrition is vital in maintaining the immune system amid the pandemic,” she added.
Khoerunisa admitted that she is grateful for the achievement in the competition held in March 2021 and concluded the interview with her hope of realizing the idea in the future. “I also hope that UNS students pay attention to balanced nutritional intake starting from themselves,” she concluded.
