UNS Indonesian Language and Literature Student Won the National Youth Literacy Podcast Competition

UNS — The students of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta never stop accomplishing new achievements. Recently, a student of the Indonesian Language and Literature Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB), won third place in a podcast competition ‘National Youth Literacy’ organized by Inspirasi Malam Platform. He is Hijrianda Niko Larizky, a student in the fourth semester at FIB UNS.

When interviewed on Monday (26/4/2021), Hijrianda Niko Larizky, or familiar as Niko, reveals that he brought a topic on ‘digital literacy in the competition. “It is important to optimize literacy in this 5.0 society era through the social media. Especially because now technology and science are kept advancing. Therefore, there are many important points that can be useful for us to improve our literacy,” Niko admits.

Further, he adds that the literacy movement initiated by the government has not brought a significant effect. Thus, he aims to share positive information through his podcast.

Niko reveals that previously he joined 20 other competitions, but this is the only competition where he won. “Alhamdulillah, I am delighted when announced as the third winner because this is the first win after competing in the 20 podcast competitions. This achievement is a contribution to my study program because this podcast is related to literacy and highly correlated with my study program, the Indonesian Language and Literature,” he adds.

Through this achievement, Niko hopes to create more content and expressing his ideas in similar competitions.

“I hope I can use this type of championship to express my opinion or my fellow students in the Indonesian Literature study program. Especially discussing important topics that can bring positive impact to the surrounding environment,” Niko concluded. Humas UNS
