UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta students continue to demonstrate their best achievements, especially following the launching of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Program. MBKM provides room for students to have additional activities inside and outside the campus. Therefore, increasing students’ achievement holistically because they have an opportunity to study outside their respective program. MBKM also encourages students to have full experiences in various fields, academic and non-academic at regional, national, and international levels.
Considering the increasing achievements of UNS students, the Directorate of Academic Reputation and Student Affairs (DRAK) UNS collaborates with UNS Public Relations Office and Media to make an inventory for students’ achievements. This inventory will facilitate the university to appreciate students’ works and provide further assistance in the future. The collaboration was implemented through a discussion on Thursday (13/1/2022) in UNS Inn.
The discussion was attended by the Director of Academic Reputation and Student Affairs, the Head of Academic and Students Affairs Bureau, representatives from UNS Public Relations Office and Media, and related academic members in student affairs.
Director of Academic Reputation and Student Affairs, Dr. Sutanto, DEA, shared a particular strategy to establish the inventory of students’ achievements. Students’ achievements fall under the 2nd Key Performance Indicator (IKU) that the university refers to develop its services.
“IKU 2 is the platform for all UNS academic members and is one of the rapports reported by the executive board to the Board of Trustees and Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology that is usually announced on 2 May on the National Education Day,” Dr. Sutanto mentioned in his remark.
Dr. Sutanto added that the record could start from local to international level achievements. UNS could then work together with the managing committees in holding a competition.
“We need to know and record student’s achievement at local to international levels and collaborates in its implementation,” Dr. Sutanto stated.
Lukman Fahmi, S.IP, M.Si as the Coordinator of Social Media Division UNS Public Relations Office and Media, welcomed this initiation and stated that his unit is ready to publish all UNS students’ achievements.
“Students’ achievement is one of the IKUs that become a priority for UNS; therefore, collaboration from various parties in the campus is needed to create synergy and handle UNS student’s achievements data. We are from UNS Public Relations Office and Media always ready to publish student’s achievements to bring better name for UNS in the community,” Lukman stated. Humas UNS
