UNS – The Covid-19 Impact Task Force, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, delivers assistance package in the form of basic needs to the community in Cangkringan Village, Banyudono, Boyolali, on Friday (24/7/2020). The assistance provided, which includes basic need packages such as rice, cooking oil, granulated sugar, tea, wheat, soy sauce, bath soap, and others, is delivered directly by the Dean of FEB UNS, Prof. Djoko Suhardjanto to the Village Chief of Cangkringan, Himawati.

“This assistance is provided as a form of empathy from the FEB UNS to the Covid-19 affected community, especially in Cangkringan village that required its 57 households to undergo independent isolation for a fortnight, due to some of their village residents are tested positive for Covid-19,” explains Prof. Djoko in his press release, Wednesday (29/7/2020).

He hopes that the assistance can be useful, lighten the burden, and encourage them to be healthy. “On behalf of FEB UNS, colleagues, alumni, and students, we deliver assistance to the Cangkringan community. Hopefully, this assistance can lighten the burden and give encouragement to get well soon and be healthy. The spirit of mutual cooperation, mutual harmony, and empathy must continue, to face the challenges in the future. Hopefully, it will be useful and a blessing. Urip sing urup memayu hayuning bawana (t/n Life should benefit others around us, striving for safety, happiness, and prosperity),” he added. 

The Village Chief, Himawati, back during the assistance is handed-on, was accompanied by several other village officials, expressed her gratitude to the FEB UNS for their concern for the people in Cangkringan. “As the Village Chief of Cangkringan and on behalf of Village Government, was extremely grateful for the arrival of the Dean of FEB UNS and his entourage who cared about our citizens. The assistance is very helpful to relieve the community, especially the 57 households in RT 4, which currently under an independent quarantine from July 21st, until August 3rd,” she explains.

Until now, the Cangkringan Village Government still waiting for the swab test result for the 7 suspects, which yet to be disclosed by the Health Service. Himawati hopes that the swab test will return a negative result. “We also ask for prayers from the FEB UNS, so that the calamity that befalls on some of our village residents can be immediately eliminated and the residents return to health and can be active again,” said Himawati.
