UNS — The International Conference on Social and Political Sciences (ICOSAPS), as part of the Internationalization Agenda for Higher Education (PT), was again organized under the grand theme of ‘Transformation in Times of Crisis’ ICOSAPS 2022, virtually through Zoom Cloud Meeting, on Wednesday-Thursday (3-4/8/2022). This activity presented 5 (five) speakers, namely Prof. Ann R Tickamyer, Dept. of Agricultural Economics, Sociology & Education, Pennsylvania State University, USA; Assoc. Prof. Minako Sakai, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of New South Wales Canberra, Australia; Assoc. Prof. Sabariah Mohammed Saleh, Faculty of Social Sciences & Humanities, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia; Assoc. Prof. Ign. Agung Satyawan, Lecturer in FISIP UNS; and Assoc. Prof. Andy Fefta Wijaya, Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya.
Dr. Yuyun Sunesti, Chairman of ICOSAPS, said that this international event aims to be a medium for exchanging multi-perspectives ideas and the latest research output. These perspectives from academics, researchers, and policymakers are expected to answer the latest issues surrounding various transformation topics that occurred during the world crises period, especially dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic over the past three years. Further, this activity also aims to initiate further scientific relations opportunities among academicians, researchers, and policymakers on an international scale. “The demands to adapt to new conditions post Covid-19 pandemic have forced numerous academics, researchers, and policymakers to find new adaptive and innovative solutions to facilitate adaptation process and avoiding social turmoil that paralyzes the community and national livelihood,” she said.
Furthermore, Dr. Yuyun Sunesti also said that this event became a strategic forum for participants to discover new issues, exchange thoughts, and establish new networks among academics, researchers, and policymakers. This effort aims to find constructive solutions for the community to recover and become more resilient from the various crises affecting communities and countries today and in the future. “The research articles presented by the participants, both directly in person and through video recordings, in this conference will be published in reputable journals and proceedings partner. These journals and proceedings were indexed by various institutions, detailed as follows 9 (nine) SINTA accredited national journals, 1 (one) SCOPUS indexed journal, and indexed international proceedings,” said Dr. Yuyun Sunesti.
The ICOPAS 2022 is fully supported by 4 (four) study program associations, namely the Indonesian Association of International Relations (AIHII), the Indonesian Association of Sociology Study Programs (APSSI), the Indonesian Association for Public Administration (IAPA), and the Association of Higher Education in Communication Sciences (Aspikom).
Moreover, the ICOSAPS 2022 is the 7th conference in this series hosted by FISIP UNS and is attended by more than 250 participants from various regional and global higher education institutions. Some international participants are from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Pakistan, China, South Korea, Australia, and Spain. Humas UNS
