UNS — Student from the Fine Art Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, won a National Poster Design Competition. He is Alif Sholihin, the UNS student who managed to beat 80 other participants from universities across Indonesia, in the ‘Public Relations Action 2020’ competition, organized by Vocational Program in Public Relations, Universitas Indonesia (UI) last September 2020.
“Of course I am happy when announced as the 1st champion. Especially, while working on my undergraduate thesis and waiting for any revision from the supervisor,” Alif states during the interview with uns.ac.id, on Sunday (11/10/2020).
He further explains that the concept of his works is the visualization of human life as chess. “This poster delivers a message on togetherness, unity, and tolerance, to maintain integration during the ongoing Covid-19. The poster depicts one person who is isolated and is standing on a fragile chess board due to Covid-19 isolation. On the other side, other people provide friendly and enthusiastic moral support,” Alif reveals.
The submission to the poster competition was available from August to September 1st. The assessment was held on 1-18 September 2020, and the result was announced through a PR Action Youtube Channel and Instagram @pr.action. Alif recounts that during the last few months, he had won design competitions, both at the national and international levels.
Concluding the interview, Alif hopes that his achievement can encourage his colleagues in UNS to achieve more. “Hopefully, in the future here will be more UNS students who accomplish great achievement at the regional, national, and international level,” he wished. Humas UNS
