UNS — The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultura (Menko PMK) of the Republic of Indonesia (Menko PMK) RI, Prof. Muhadjir Effendy, congratulates Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) for the success of its delegation in the National Business Innovation Competition (KIBM) 2020. The felicitations were delivered during his scientific oration in front of the graduates of UNS V Convocation, Saturday (24/10/2020) afternoon, through Zoom Cloud meeting and UNS Oficial Youtube.
As previously released by uns.ac.id, the four delegations from UNS had successfully passed the selection for KIBM funding organized by the Center for National Achievements (Puspresnas), the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) RI, on October 5th, 2020. The proposals of the UNS delegations are ‘Dimasakin Uti’, Go Rattan, Kacang Mete Anggun, and Galaxy Pengetahuan.
Prof. Muhadjir mentioned that the KIBM is designed to fostering young entrepreneurs. According to him, fostering young entrepreneurship is one of the methods to boost the Indonesian economy, which currently is hit by a recession due to the minus economic growth in the second quarter of 2020.
“This KIBM aims to encourage creative and innovative entrepreneurs amid the Industrial Revolution 4.0 as well as to build diverse skills. I appreciate and proud of UNS achievement,” Prof. Muhadjir reveals. Further, he mentions that the Covid-19 pandemic has encouraged transformation in the working world, proven by the massive usage of technology and changes in working patterns that prioritize creativity and innovation. As millennials, UNS graduates must train themselves to adapt to the previous and current shift, while entering the working world. For him, the students’ convocation is a beginning for their future life.
“Ready or not this pandemic will create a fast and massive structural change, bot in the education and professional sector. This shift will create an unstable, complicated, and confusing condition, and you must be able to adapt to the new change while employing the new facilities and technology,” explains the Former Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) RI in 2016-2019.
At the end of the oration, Prof. Muhadjir hopes that UNS, as well as its graduates, can continuously contribute to the community to recover from the Covid-19 pandemic, especially in the economic recovery and transformation. Humas UNS
